Enjoy the Crisp, Cool Days of Fall in Greater Sudbury

The bright green leaves of summer are at last making their beautiful
transition into the golds, reds and browns of autumn. With so much nature
surrounding us, it's no wonder that fall is one of the most beautiful
times of the year in Greater Sudbury.
But
just because the hazy days of summer are but a memory, that does not
mean that the festivals and activities in the City come to an end. Quite the
opposite! Greater Sudbury is alive with festivals, and
volunteer
and leisure activities this fall!
The new
2010-2011 Fall/Winter Leisure Guide will give you and your
family plenty of ideas to stay physically and mentally in shape this
season. From cooking to art classes, and from hockey to yoga programs,
let the Leisure Guide help you get motivated.
One of the most beautiful areas of the City to visit this season is, no
doubt, Onaping Falls.
Onaping High Falls
is one of the most
beautiful and also one of the biggest waterfalls in the province. If
you've never visited, now is definitely the time to plan a trip.
Also be sure to check out the mysudbury
Community Events Calendar. There
is something for everyone! Just click on a date and see what's
happening!
We are also looking for new candidates for the
Newcomer Testimonial
section of our Newcomers

hear your story. Your insight is needed to help others looking to come
to Greater Sudbury. If you would like to participate, check out the
contact info listed at the bottom of this newsletter.
Newcomer Testimonial - Shuayb Mohammad Abidi
"My Sudbury is beautiful."
Want to know what other Newcomers say about living in the City of
Greater Sudbury? Check out this season's Newcomer Testimonial from
Shuayb Mohammad Abidi and learn about real experiences, from a real Newcomer. From
educational opportunities to leisure activities, there is an answer for
everything you need to know before making the City of Greater Sudbury
your perfect new home.
Shuayb has been a resident of the
City of
Greater Sudbury for 14 months. Originally from Afghanistan, he is in
the process of completing his MD residency.
Shuayb has become attached to the beautiful City, he said.
He chose to live in the south end of Greater Sudbury because it
offers nice neighbourhoods, high market value and a quiet environment.
Although he is still exploring the City, Shuayb has visited the
Greater Sudbury
shopping
centres,
the movie theatre,
Moonlight Beach and Ramsey Lake.
He also enjoys going to friends’ houses and attending community
parties. This Newcomer hopes to become more involved in entertainment
activities in the future.
Shuayb says there are many reasons he is a proud Greater Sudbury
resident, including the beautiful university (Laurentian
University), the fabulous science centre (Science
North), the natural surroundings and the great people.
His advice to other Newcomers is that Greater Sudbury is a great
place to live and raise a family. He also says that city officials are
extremely friendly.
According to Shuayb, the best features of the City of Greater Sudbury
are the great friendly people and the beauties of nature.
