The Greater Sudbury Finnish Community

The Greater Sudbury community is a mosaic of culture and nationalities. This time we have decided to inform you on the Sudbury Finnish Canadian Historical Society.

The Society offers an informative website which features photo galleries, history, business listings, events and much more.

Anyone can join the Sudbury Finnish Canadian Historical Society. Membership cost is $5 for one year and is renewed every spring. Membership includes news updates on meetings and the eligibility to vote on decisions. The fees also allow the society to continue community outreach activities and projects, such as their publications and website. The society is volunteer run and all contributions are greatly appreciated.

One of the Finnish Canadian Historical Society's current projects is writing a history of Finnish-owned businesses in the area. Did you know that so far they have counted 565 businesses? Check it out and let them know of any missing names.
